I started my skincare journey fairly recently - 2 years ago. Spending a lot of time at home due to a global pandemic led to an exploration in self care for many of us. My interest in skincare has stuck with me even 2 years on. And I’ve been learning and reading up a lot on different ingredients and products.

The products in this list are ones I have been using consistently for a while now and that I have found myself repeatedly recommending to those around me. So I thought it was time to share my thoughts on these products here as well!

Some of these products were recommendations from my dermatologist. Some were recommendations from friends, family and other bloggers. And some I just stumbled upon when researching skincare ingredients. This list contains my favourites of all these discoveries. These are products that I genuinely believe could make a difference to most people’s skincare journeys.

I hope you notice an improvement in your skin if you decide to try them out! 🤗💕

The first product in this list is one that should be a no-brainer for people with acne-prone skin. These hydrocolloid patches work every time, and are very affordable! If you’ve been thinking about trying spot patches, look no further. These are the only ones you’ll ever need.

Just stick a patch onto an active spot and leave it for a few hours/overnight. When you peel it off, you will notice that it has pulled out a lot of gunk from your clogged pore.

These patches work best when the spot is near the surface of your skin and is ready to pop. The best part is - no scarring. Because you’re not picking at/injuring your skin to pop the pimple, you get good results without scarring. As someone with acne-prone skin, I swear by these patches!

A new, accidental but life-changing find - Hypochlorous Acid. This is a game-changing ingredient. And not just for skincare!

Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) is nature’s weapon to kill germs. It is produced by our own white blood cells. It is said to be over 100 times more powerful than bleach, and yet non-toxic to us! It’s magical.

The tiniest amount of HOCl makes a powerful germ-killer. It is even recommended as a disinfectant to fight COVID-19. But, because it is non-toxic, produced by our own bodies, antimicrobial, and great for sensitive skin, it is an incredible ingredient to add to your skincare routine.

Skincare benefits of hypochlorous acid according to www.health.clevelandclinic.org:

  • Fight bacteria that causes clogged pores and acne.

  • Speed up wound healing and repair damage.

  • Combat inflammation and conditions such as eczema or psoriasis.

BRIOTECH has made this skin spray using hypochlorous acid that has people raving! Check the reviews for yourself. I have also started using it recently and am so excited to start to notice a difference.

HOCl is great for a multitude of skin conditions. Here is more information from a reputable source: www.health.clevelandclinic.org

The BRIOTECH Hypochlorous Acid spray tends to go out of stock a lot so here’s an alternative from Curativa that also has great reviews on Amazon.

Indus Valley Aloe Vera Gel for Skin & Hair

Aloe Vera is another powerful, natural anti-inflammatory ingredient. This 100% pure aloe vera gel is great for both your skin & hair! It has a cooling, soothing and healing effect on your skin. It is also a moisturizing gel, which means it hydrates your skin without leaving it sticky or greasy.

It is great for different skin types as well as conditions like acne, rosacea, stretch marks, sunburn, etc.

Highly recommend!

Sunscreen is a very important part of a good skincare routine. This one was recommended to me by my dermatologist. She suggested I use SPF 50 instead of SPF 30 because apparently we never end up using enough for it to have its full effect.

This one by Eucerin has been working great for me for about a year now. It dries matte and never leaves a film on my face. I have zero issues with it and recommend it to every one I know!

I also have rosacea and this has been great at protecting my skin from the sun. It’s the most important step in my morning skincare routine.

M.A.D Skincare Delicate Skin Cleansing Gel

This is the facewash I have been using for a year now and I absolutely love it. It is super gentle, making it great for sensitive skin or conditions like rosacea. And it works really well too - I can feel the difference in my skin every time I use it. This was also recommended to me by my dermatologist.

It has chamomile extract, licorice extract and aloe vera - all great natural, anti-inflammatory ingredients. If you’ve been looking for a new facewash, I highly recommend you give this a try.

This is the moisturizer I use before the Eucerin oil-control sunscreen. This too is oil-control which gives me matte skin - no greasiness - great for acne prone sensitive skin. I’ve been using this for year too and I absolutely love it.

This adjunctive soothing cream is usually given to people with acne-prone skin or people taking acne treatment which tends to dry out the skin. It is intensively hydrating, yet not at all greasy. The perfect moisturizer.

Wishful Yo Detox Face & Body Enzyme Scrub

This product is one my sister recently introduced me too after she noticed an improvement in her skin. This face and body scrub has charcoal, pineapple, AHA and BHA. Every time you use it (recommended once or twice a week) your skin feels brand new and radiant.

It pulls out and scrubs away all the impurities and dead cells leaving your skin feeling soft and fresh. I’ve only recently started using it and even though I have sensitive skin, I’m able to use it once a week without any noticeable harmful effects.

Charcoal is a great toxin absorber too, so I’m really happy to add it to my skincare routine through this product.

If you have been on the hunt for a good face and body scrub, and are willing to spend a little more, then this is a great pick.

These were all my skincare product recommendations. I hope you are inspired to try new ways to heal and take care of your skin! I will keep updating you with more skincare finds as I go through this life as a human. 😊 Hope this post added something of value to your life! Have a great day.
